I saw on a few Forums that Pauls Chrome is out of Business. If anyone has anything there, you may want to look into it. I cannot verify this, but I have seen it reported on at least 3 other forums.

Might see a few more shut down.  New EPA regs do not want chrome shops in business.  Bad for the baby seals and minnows...

I don't want anyone's business to go under. But they may have priced themselves out of business.

I got a quote from them once and it was a hard pass for me.

Even being in Michigan it is cheaper to ship parts to California for plating then getting it done here in the rustbelt Midwest.

Even with whatever environmental laws they have in California, competition keeps them on their toes and prices lower.

Paul's Chrome did all parts on my 1940 LaSalle 5227.  The quality and appearance was stunning!  Sad to hear that a high quality shop may have closed it's doors.

I was told theres a good shop in Tucson.  This was of course in 2020.  Need to eventually redo the rear bumper on the 59.

I used them about 20 years ago for a bunch of parts, with great results. They are about 25 minutes north of where I live. I called them 12/22/23, which was a Friday, to get an estimate for some work, and I was told they had shut down on Monday 12/18/23, and were trying to get everything back to the correct owners.

out of curiosity, I looked into whether or not it was possible to do at home.

As near as I could tell, the answer was "yes, as long as a high fatality rate for your neighbors isn't a problem."
