Several years ago I had an electronic ignition system installed in my subject car, which I had already converted to a 12 volt system. As built the car has a centrifugal timing feature on the distributor that was designed for the low octane fuels of the day and cannot accommodate modern fuels. It sits inside of the distributor cap and runs OK but rough. Surely there is a better system out there! Looking for recommendations on a better system that I could instal. Thanks.

Was your conversion a Pertronics brand? Those can be rather troublesome.
The only real issue with modern fuels can be vapor loc in warm weather.
If running modern resistor plugs with modern resistor wires, you are also headed for trouble.
let us know what you find.
