Not mine but....

Just sandblast everything and then paint it all....

In my mind that's what made a 50's Cadillac a Cadillac....lots of chrome and trim....

Not my cup of tea but a heck of a lot cheaper

Soon, I think spray chrome will mature into a better alternative in a few years.
Traditional chrome is going away due to environmental concerns.

These all-black cars lack creativity. The lack of contrast
is a style, but way too overdone.
Darth Vader would be proud though.

The same amount of prep work would still apply which accounts for most of the
cost in re-chroming. The plating itself is the small part.

Prep work would be to sandblast everything and then spray a primer filler and then spray the paint....easy peezy

Ya, primer filler is all it needs. There is hardly any prep in that when you want a mirror finish. That is why painting a car is so cheap.

Sorry for my sarcasm.

I visited a supplier of "Spray Chrome" at a trade expo. They were selling their process for new production not restoration. But even they told me it was not less expensive then chrome.

If you say so. Whatever. I'm not going to get into it.
