I was hoping someone who has done a rewire on a 1947 Cadillac can help me out. I need quite a few of these grommets that Steele rubber makes/carries but they're quite costly and there is a large shipping fee on top. I found grommets like these on eBay that look virtually but identical but I haven't received any reply to confirm. does anyone have a source for cheaper grommets or possibly have used any universal ones before with success? I am not trying to cheap out but its hard to stomach the cost for such small parts. thanks in advance

See photo. I bought grommets from Steele Rubber and they are high quality.
I also used the grommets in the photo from Amazon in certain areas. You can pierce the middle of these and run wires through them. Not as high quality, but they work and you can't beat the price.
Bryan, if you go to the ebay site, and scroll down to where it says "Compatibility", then at the bottom of the chart
go to page 29 and there you will find that the grommets are compatible with your 1947 Cadillac. The ebay seller is calling
them "headlamp bucket grommets", and if that is what you need, they should work. As for quality ???? Ebay is good about
returns, unless the seller specifically says "No Returns", and even then, if the item is defective or the seller has
misrepresented the item, ebay will get your money back for you.
Rubber The Right Way also shows what looks to be the same grommet, part #06-004G—but they are $14.99 each.
