Barton, VT Cadillac Parade, Henry Leland, and old Cadillac Advertising

Yesterday my wife and I traveled to Barton, Vermont and spent some time with Lorie Seadale who is organizing the Cadillac parade on August 17. The plans for the Guiness record are on track and there's been lots of publicity. Lorie was doing a TV interview yesterday, and she had the great article in the New York Times a week ago. I will exhibit a collection of around 300 Cadillac magazine advertisements from 1913 through 2011. At the end of the parade I will also be showing a collection of Cadillac sales brochures from 1904 through 1933 -- spanning Leland's years in the automobile industry. I was reminded yeterday of how beautiful the Northeast Kingdon of Vermont is, with its rolling valleys, expansive views, sparkling lakes, and pristine setting. The highways are surprisingly good, and perfect for driving older Cadillacs...
