I have what I hope is a simple wiring harness question
The details:
1970 Cadillac Deville convertible
Car was rebuilt recently and generally a good job on the engine and exterior of the car but the inside and electrical need a touch up.  I have the seats and carpet out for restoring/replacement and noticed a wiring harness headed to the rear but was cut off under the seat. The two wires in the harness are light blue and a darker blue. Both solid color.  I have a color coded wiring diagram but am confused in trying to trace what they feed in the back of the car.  Any knowledge shared would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Could these be to the Radio Speakers?   I have seen this dark blue used for a single rear speaker, and if the car had two rear speakers (Stereo), then the other wire could be for the second speaker.

If someone has fitted replacement speakers/radio, then the original wiring is not used, as the old speakers use a one wire from the radio, and the other side of the speaker coil is grounded.

I have seen these speaker wires outside of the factory wiring loom, as different sound systems might need different wiring.

Thanks Bruce. I have upgraded the radio and speakers. Original speakers were still in the car and wired to the original radio so I don't think they were for that. I'll keep looking at the diagram. Thanks

Looking at the wiring diagram it does look like they may go to speakers.  Maybe the guy just ran new wire back to speakers but it really looked like all original wiring and speakers.  Again I'll keep checking.

Instead of tracing everything for hours, it is easy enough to just hook a speaker to the wire to see what you get, no?

I have a 67, so things might be different, but as Bruce says, I'd think rear speakers. Mine (AM/FM mono) is a single dark blue, easily (ish) traced from radio harness, around back of dash, and long passenger side. It's separate from the body harness (driver's side).
