My '37 LaSalle is missing its gas tank and of course the sender that goes along with it. Has anyone replaced the tank with one from another car along with a sender unit that may read properly at the stock gauge? I believe the sending unit is a one year only device good on the LaSalle and 60 Series Cad. so I imagine it is unobtanium, but wondering if anything else has been tried.
Fitting a tank to the car isn't un-surmountable of course, but getting a sending unit to register properly with the stock gauge may be.

Could it be similar to the other models made by GM for that year?

I could email you a picture of what Chevrolet did for 1937.

Looking at those pictures, the Chev tank looks to be very similar, but slightly shorter.
