I was just reading over this old and revived post and then got to thinking that since the early Sevilles were based off the older "X" body Novas platform, and they dumped the Nova for the "First Chevy of the 80s" new "X" body Citation for the newly redesigned "X" body Seville and ... very thankful that they didnt do such a stupid move.

Imagine?  An Seville based off the Citation platform!  Then again, GM did do something that stupid anyhow and came up with the "J" body Chevy Cavalier as the "Cimarron by Cadillac"?  SOOoo in a sense, it happened anyhow, but thankfully not to the already established Seville or the other already established Cadillac models.  They wanted to do them in from under the hood in later years by sticking the unproven and untested HT4100.

Ahh the days of Roger Smith!

Later!
