I want to say thank you that the folks that run this forum listened to our concerns over the possible loss of all these valuable photos and took care of it. And again thank you !, I may be many things but one of them is not ungrateful.

Yes, well said Bill and dadscad. Trying to see both sides here. While deleting the photos was like "throwing the baby out with the bathwater", running a server and memory must have costs associated with them; so as members we all should be mindful of the size of files we submit. This is my first post since the Forum re-boot, and not sure what the new image posting guidelines are. I imagine there are in place file size restrictions, which do make sense. Clay/Lexi

From what I understand, pictures up to 5MB can be posted, with the maximum per post at 10.   When these pictures are downloaded, they are automatically reduced in size, but when hitting on the thumbnail for each one you want to look at deeper, then they enlarge to full size.

Max # of pics per post was always 10.
There was always a smaller version of a posted pic on a thread, clicking on it always enlarged it "IF" the
pic was big enough.

Just to reiterate what has been said above, the 10 pictures limit, technically attachments if you also attach something like a PDF file, text or MS-Word document, still stands. Initial upload size is limited to 5Mb, which should be sufficient for all pictures. The uploads are then automatically reduced even further, since yes, the root cause of the recent problems was the size of our data. Other mistakes were made while trying to overcome the data size problem for which I, as webmaster, must take responsibility.

The club, and I, have learned from this experience and we have some new processes that will hopefully reduce the chance of something similar happening in the future.

I applaud your attitude Bill.

Stefan,

It is a big man who can admit his mistakes, take ownership of them, and correct them.

It is a shame that it took such an up roar to bring about the fix.

Once burned, twice learned, thanks.

Have fun,
