hello all, I have '68 472 that i swapped into my '80 suburban that I cannot get to fire up. i'm guessing the timing is the issue.
How can I get to TDC, by means of the intake valve rocker position to determine that
TDC is on #1? Btw this has a HEI distributor from a 425 caddy V8.

When both Intake and Exhaust valves are closed, and the pointer is on TDC, you have the correct position.

Don't forget that No. 1 in a 472/500 is on the right front of the engine.
