Hi All,
This post might be better suited for the "Technical" or "Wanted" sections.
I am looking for a glass bearing & fastener for a 72 Eldo driver door window (part 6 in the attached diagram). Mine is missing and the window won't seat properly where the roof rail seal and windshield pillar seal come together. I'm thinking that the missing bearing might provide a little extra leverage to make the window seat properly.
Does anyone know where I might find one?
Thanks,
Andrew Briddell
Any GM vehicle from a number of years will have this part.
I would be trying the wreckers in your area, and even a vehicle with a smashed door. It won't matter which side of the car it is, or front or rear door.
So long as it is a full glass window, and not a metal surrounded one.
Bruce. >:D
My car likely needs that too. Is that something we could maybe find in maybe an F body (camaro firebird) resto parts catalog? Or how about a Corvette? Seems like they reproduce just about every part for those cars and those didn't have frames around the windows.
I found a listing for a Corvette (68-82) glass bearing but the shape of the part doesn't appear to match the diagram. There is a a kind of stem below the bearing and I couldn't tell if the diameter would match the hole in the glass or not. http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-window-glass-bearing-fastener-front-1968-1982.html (http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-window-glass-bearing-fastener-front-1968-1982.html)
BUT, I did find another source that may work:

I'll let you know if it works.
