Title: Issues for users on Comcast Business network (UPDATED)
Post by: Stefan Bartelski (CLC Webmaster) on March 04, 2024, 04:31:59 PM
I have it on good authority that there can be problems trying to access the forums, if you are using the Comcast Business Internet network. This is because Comcast has deemed that the servers at Dreamhost, where we moved our forums, are "unsafe". Comcast's security package refuses to forward browser requests to those servers.

However, I am pleased to share a solution that was found for you by Mark Wheeler of Cornerstone Registrations, who runs our membership and main website software. He was experiencing the same problem as another forum participant.

QuoteThe problem with us Comcast Business customers not being able to get to photos.cadillaclasalle.club and forums.cadillaclasalle.club is due to Comcast "hijacking" DNS requests and returning bogus IP addresses.  I found this solution on Reddit (link below).  The solution is to turn OFF Comcast's SecurityEdge product.  The Reddit poster says you must call Comcast support to have them turn if off.  You don't.  You only need to log into your Comcast Business account (business.comcast.com (http://business.comcast.com/)) as the Administrator and look for the SecurityEdge product on the main dashboard.  Expand the SecurityEdge product box, then move the slider to disable it.  Works like a charm.
