1946-1949 Flathead Starter Rebuild Kit

Is there a flathead starter rebuild kit available?  I found a solenoid that works with the starter but it blew the weak and corroded internals of the motor apart.  It can never be easy.

I know there's a complete gear reduction starter available but it's like $300.  I really just want to see if this motor runs before putting money into it.
