I had my transmission rebuilt, but when I went to hook up the TV the linkage  the spline faces up, towards the floor, instead of down.  Does anyone know if it is possible for the shaft with the splines to have been installed 180 degrees off?  Of course the rebuilder is of no help.

Tom,

It is possible the throttle lever at the transmission (that connects to the TV rod) was place 180.  ??? The shaft should rest against the valve as per the second picture.

Can you rotate the throttle lever and feel pressure from the valve?

There is just one position to install the lever. Could be that the transmission shop did something wrong.

Wow!  Good luck.  If they didn't get that right, I shudder to think what else they got wrong.

I've been through a few bad rebuilds myself.
