Title: HT4100 set-timing connector
Post by: Mike Martens on February 16, 2008, 12:24:13 PM
I have an 84 Brougham and need to identify the set-timing connector.  This is part of a procedure to burn off deposits that may cause sticking exhaust valves.

Presumably it will be at the distributor and is part of a four pin connector; but which one?

Thanks

I dont have one of those cars anymore or the manuals.   I do seem to recall some GM's you unplug that 4 pin connector, others there is a single connector near the firewall, and others its done in the diagnostic port..... too many cars over the years to remember for sure.  Also something in my memory banks about doing it from the climate control panel.

Where did you read about this procedure?  If it was real you would think they would not have left out that critical detail.
