Title: what is a 1959 cadillac front grill made of?

Can someone tell me how to clean it and wht it is made of please.

JOHN, I think it is annodized aluminum. As for cleaning it ,sorry but you are on your own.

By putting "grille cleaning" in the SEARCH function above I came up with these threads and postings.  Click on the link below to see previous discussions on this subject .....

Cleaning my 1962 grille

Gentleman,

Ive tried to rub out the eggcrate aluminum grille of my 1962 with limited success.  Does anyone know the trick to getting the grillwork to brighten up?  Ive tried various metal polishes and nothing seems to bring it up.

How many spare hours are you willing to put in?  I used a toothbrush and tooth paste on my 70 grill.  I put about 20 hours total into it and it came out great.  I put the toothpaste on and brushed it.  Then once dry I used a rag to get it off.
