Title: Want to identify '53 Eldorado at Tallahassee Auto Museum Fl.
Post by: Ross Morgan #22943 on May 20, 2009, 08:19:30 PM
I asked Matt Larson if he had identified the Azure Blue 1953 Eldorado that is on display at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.  He said that he's tried to get this information from the director but was unable to.  Does anyone live close to this museum?  If so, would it be possible to contact the director and ask if it was possible to take a photo of the dataplate and identify the body number (tag is on the firewall near the battery)?  Secondly, check the VIN by a) seeing if white plastic lub tag next to the door latch on the driver’s side exists b) on the flat machined surface on the front of the right-hand cylinder block (just in front of the valve cover).  If the VIN can't be found, that's okay! (as long as we can get the body number).  It would be good to see several photos of the interior/exterior as well!

You never know, this Eldorado may not be on the current survivors list!  Contact details are:

Saw this car in 2001 when I lived in Florida.  It is a beauty.  Too far away to help now, but good luck, and let us know how it goes!  They also have a Tucker down there IIRC.
