Title: 95 caddy brougham
Post by: TommyO on May 27, 2009, 08:37:44 AM
tranmision shift selector stopped working one month ago.  Car has been at Caddy Dealer one whole week.  This morning the dealer service suggested that I have them re inspect the car so that it will pass state inspection, and NOT to fix the problem at hand!  (IT failed NJ inspection for this issue)

ANy help in solving this problem greatly appreciated!  Dealer suggested that I don't wnat to spend one thousand to repair?? ??? ???

thanks in advance,

tommyo

First suggestion based upon the inability of a "Cadillac dealership" to not being able to fix a minor issue on one of their cars would be to find another repair agency.

Correction!  Local Cadillac Chevrolet dealership had the car for four days!  Wants 400.00 diagnsis fees to !  Car will not pass inspection now due to shift quadrant not showing correct selection!  Without sounding like a miser...Is there a cheaper way out??
thanks,

Anyone know if that is a mechanical or electronic indicator?   Seems like my 93 was mechanical but its been a while so I could be remembering wrong.
