Hello,
I have a complete electric antenna with a bezel that I purchased. When I purchased the bezel they didn't include the nut that holds it into the fender. I tihnk I got the fender Bezel from Cadillac Kings. Anyways, if anyone knows where I can get one of those plastic or neoprene nuts that holds down the antenna to the fender bezel it would be appreciated.

i believe the one on my car is metal....chromed too i believe...could be wrong as i dont pay much attention to it.

Any clue where I could pick one up? Does anyone make them? Cadillac kings charged me through the nose for the Bezel I'm not going back to them.

Since the 1956 type of retaining nut (chrome) for the antenna is a one only for this year it is going to be difficult and $$$$. Not sure if other GM models could interchange with this type.

you could give alvin arnild a call im sure he has one on one of his 56s. i figure he'd be very reasonable on his price and shipping. if he doesnt want to ship it..ill go pick it up as hes only 3 miles down the road ane drop it in the mail to you. his number is 8702367253. hes mostly retired these days but im sure he'll have what you need.

Thanks for the suggestions, I got off the phone with Cadillac King in Pamona. They sold me the eschucheon in the first place. They are sending me the nut free of charge.

I finally recieved the chrome nut that holds down the eschucheon in the fender to the Antenna. Do you know if there is a tool to get that peice on and off? Is there a wrench? I see people fabbing them and selling the wrenches on ebay, but nothing for this year cadillac. It's got a hole on both sides of the nut.

I ground a tool myself from an old socket of that diameter, leaving 2 teeth to match the inset in the chrome ring. Worked well enough for me and didn't scarf up the chrome. I have also used it to remove a difficult bezel nut once and it seemed to perform. Didn't take anything but a grinding wheel and a little patience!

When I had mine off I just used a flat blade screwdriver very gently to tighten that nut. It will only fit on one side of the nut, but it suffices in tightening it just fine. It's readily available and works, just be super careful not to let it slip or it could scar the finish. You could try and put a small peice of paper towel or something around the end of the screwdriver to help with keeping it from getting against the finish.
