My 1960 Eldo had a leaky trans , and we removed it to replace the seals and gaskets . After repair and re-install the trans does not shift into high gear on the highway . Before the repair (although leaky) the trans shifted into high as it should . Any suggestions on possible cause would be greatly appreciated . Thanks
PS - we did not open the trans case itself ......
I suppose the rod going from the carb to the transmission is not properly adjusted.

I second that. If it's adjusted too tight, it will prevent the upshift. Also, make sure the linkage from the shifter is properly adjusted.
