Hi, Does anyone know what happened to the white 59 Coupe deVille from movie, The Deer Hunter ? Ken Perry
Don`t know what happened to it, but I sure hate the way they closed the trunk..
My all time favorite movie!
Not to hijack thread but I saw the "My Cousin Vinnie" 61 (?) for sale in Hemmings.
One of my all time favorites...
I think vinnies caddie was a 62
Go to 1:45 and they talk about the car in this video and i think they say what they did with the car after the movie.
And the Deer Hunter. One of my favorite films of ALL TIME!
Thanks

Thanks for posting the link!
Enjoyed the video immensely.
Makes me dearly regret selling mine all the more. :'(
Here is a picture of the deer hunter caddy when they make a 180 turn in the begining of the movie. I was looking at this picture of the 59 and the ignition switch is where the headlight switch should be and the headlight switch is where the ignition switch should be. Just thought this was kinda funny figuring we were all talking about the car yesterday.

The clock's on the wrong side too.
And a 1960 steering wheel.
Looks like RHD.
The picture is reversed, I can see the aircon vent under the headlight switch, and the key is anti clockwise in the run position :)
Here it is the correct way.
Ah...I see. Thank you for clearing that up Glen. I just kept looking at the picture and everything was in the wrong place.

The video shows the car being pushed into its final resting place: Cadillac Ranch - off route 66, Amarillo TX.

At least it's been spared from the crusher and the indignity of being reincarnated as a couple of Corollas. ::)
