Title: 1940 LaSalle Convertible
Post by: rhb6111 on December 04, 2012, 02:32:55 PM
I have a 1940 photograph of a LaSalle Convertible Sedan that my grandparents may have owned. The 1940 California license plate number on the car is 55 P 545. I'm trying to find out how/if I can find the 1940 registration to (a) confirm who owned it at the time and (b) if the car is one of the 10 or so convertibles still in existence.

Thanks.

Richard,
I hate to be negative but...
a. Impossible.
b. Probably impossible. Even if you had the VIN, you would need to locate all known surviving examples of the car.

Hello Richard

There is a small chance.....

If you can find some other vital information about your parents vehicle.....and the current club owners of that model are receptive to converse with you...you might be able to find the same car.

I hope the best for you.
