Just purchased this little beauty a few weeks ago. It's a 1936 LaSalle series 36-5019. One of my concerns amongst many is the spare wheel covers. I have talked to a metal spinner friend and he says no problem as far as making them up as long as I can get some critical info, such as a profile template, cardboard would do, of both the surround and face plate, the diameter, width and maybe some close up pictures of the fit within the fender. I would also need to see how the whole finished piece goes together. Is there anybody out there with a 36 willing to help.

I have a pair of 37 Cadillac covers which would not be authentically correct as the 36 was an open cover showing the hubcap whereas 37 was a closed cover. Would save a lot of trouble but depends how right you want it to be.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to keep this as original as possible and pretty set on the look of the 36 wheel covers. One way or another I will come up with a solution.

I have a 1936 cover available, I don't know much about it but I would sell out of my collection for the right price. It is restorable and all tabs are in good shape.
You're on the wrong track there Skimbord27. Frank was looking for sidemount covers. What you have is a Hubcap. Besides, this thread is from 3 years ago and I guess Frank would have solved his problem by now.
Well I guess I should check in more often. Yes Steve you are right, I did solve that problem. I got my metal spinning friend to make up a set. I got measurements off a 36 Cadillac That was being restored at Restore cars in Castle Rock Colorado. It cost me a $1,000 and 0ne week later a set came up on ebay for $1,200. I am moving ahead on the car but at a very slow pace. I still work and just make time when I can. The frame and suspension are all done and the engine and tranny are ready to drop in.
