Title: 1937 Series 60 gages
Post by: cadillac ken on May 26, 2015, 11:10:11 PM
I need a set of gages for my recently purchased 1937 60 series coupe.  I have found a set of '37 La Salle gages and wanted to know if the faces/needles will match the '37 cadillac clock and speedo still in the car that I intend to use.

They are the same Ken but I have seen the plastic deteriorate at different rates. Make sure the colour is not too different than yours if your not replacing the whole set.

OK.  thanks, Steve.  I actually have spoken to Mr. John Gatley who advertises here who has a set of these gages.  We spoke yesterday and he assures me that they are quite nice and the chrome is in great condition--  Quite the character and a lot of fun to talk to!

He has given me a decent price on them. I just wanted to check with the guys here before I sent the money for a set of gages that were not correct.  Concerning the color differentiation; I suspect these are somewhat hard to find so I will have to live with it if they are only slightly off.
The Clock and Speedo in my car are very nice-- so they're going to stay put.

Again thanks, Steve.

I had mine re-made by a sign making company. I was going to get into production but never got the demand.

That's the rub.  I make some products that I sell as a vendor (not retail) and most folks don't understand the cost and layout required to take on such an endeavor.  When I have a new idea that I bounce off of the "buyers" at a company I get the "I don't know, I might be interested…"  Or they want only one or two of a product that takes a great deal of cash outlay and a reasonable amount of sales to just break even.
