Title: 1965 Sedan de Ville front fender dust shield clips
Post by: DirkB on May 07, 2021, 04:14:23 AM
Hi,
I have some clips (see picture) missing on my 1965 Cadillac Sedan de Ville front fender dust shields.
Does anybody know where I can get them?

Also, is there a source for the vertical chrome strips/mouldings on the edges of all 4 doors?

Thanks for the help
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

www.amkproducts.com

We used Buick part #1189820 (amk #B-14179) for a 1962 Buick Electra 225 retainer, front fender skirt seal, clip attaches piece of rubber to inner fender brace. They also have a wide variety of clips and fasteners. You can us oem part numbers in the search window to view product. I hope this helps.

These will work
https://www.rubbertherightway.com/1966-cadillac-restoration-parts-fastener-48179-prd1.htm

I have not found the original ones reproduced.  However, these repros are used on the cowl (painted in red primer originally) and work fine

I just restored the wider ones needed as I had some good ones from parts cars.  These were painted flat black for the ones on the rubber fender seal against the side of firewall.

There are no reproduction metal chrome door edge guards being made today specifically for the 1965 Cadillac Sedan de Ville.
Some after-market chrome door edge moldings are available (Pep Boys, JC Whitney, etc.) but that is cheap chrome plated plastic sold in rolls with a flimsy adhesive.
If you want authentic door edge moldings you will have to find them on eBay or from a junk yard excuse me auto recycling facility.
