Whats the project? Without hydroboost? I'm not sure that the pumps were any different its just the tanks had a 2nd return port on em. If you got rid of the hydroboost but there isn't anything else wrong you can just cap the extra return port. If you are looking for a complete pump anything from 75-81 should work and had the press on single groove pulley. 74 could be single or dual (mostly dual) and I think were still bolt on. -73 were dual and bolt on.
Thanks, if you say 75-81 will work that's what I'm seeking. The project is a 1937 LaSalle with '76 Eldorado engine. I am not using an R4 AC compressor, using a Sanden and the only reason I want the PS pump is to use it as a belt tensioner. I'm not running PS and it is a lot easier to use the PS pump as the tensioner rather than fabricating a separate one.
Interesting. So do you just make a loop in the hose to keep the pump happy? I know from experience you can't run them very long without fluid.
How much room do you have along the sides up front? Maybe you could stick the compressor more in the power steering area? They make several universal brackets for the Sandens, maybe something would get you pretty close assuming you have some space in that area.
Hi: I was going to mount the AC compressor in the trunk, but can't do it. Then I was going to run the stock R4 and find it isn't a good unit. Now I have a new Sanden unit coming and initially I was going to use the R4 front bracket, I ground a couple of ovals in it to make it fit the Sanden..but Vintage Air makes a flat bracket that works with the stock manifold or an Edelbrock. I have a huge bulldog manifold I want to use, so think I can just make spacers at the rear to hold it..the Edelbrock has a couple of spuds that they use, but I believe I can make spacers, drill through the Bulldog, or tap it, it's thick, and use the Sanden. I needed a way to tension the belt and the easiest way is to run a PS pump in the stock position. I'll run it full of fluid, run the outlet back into the inlet and Bob's your uncle. Later I'll probably sock my Mustang II rack and pinion under the car, take off one end and run the other to a tie rod so I'll have PS. I didn't want to put in a PS box in the first place. Or, I'll just keep the stock steering and arm it til I get tired. I already drove this coupe 100,000 miles 30 years ago and don't remember what it was like to turn it. I now have the right PS pump, it lines up with the pulley, so just waiting for my new Sanden and brackets. Will post photos when I have it all aligned. It is not going to be a pretty as I'd like, but at age 77 I need to get it done.

According to 76-80 master catalog shows part #7827820, valid for 76-78 Eldorado and '76 Series 75 & Commercial chassis.
