Title: 37 caddy engine color?

have a 37 caddy,in middle of resto,bought car in a big basket.has had partial restoration started,motor had been rebuilt and was painted,but was a poor job is starting to flake and rust due to not enough paint on it,my question is what is the proper color,mine is painted a dark blue,similar to ford blue.have read it should be green? if so what shade.have the body removed and can do a touch up real easy,planning to do pulleys and other parts too,am pretty sure about their colors. any help is greatly appreciated,will post some pics as they are ready. thanks Harvey B

You can get the paint from Bill Hirsch, or Terrill Machine. They are the ones with the vertical ads in Hemmings. Bill advertises in display ads in the front, usually under services offered. It is the "Bell Telephone" olive green that is correct. This paint goes on well, even with a brush on the cast iron. Hirsch also has it in spray bombs. Good luck.
