Among other problems the upholstery in my LaSalle is pretty shot.  I can't do much to help the shop that is trying to "Restore" it but I could take the old cardboard/straw lined and upholstery covered pieces and attempt to trace and recut them out of some other material say cardboard (too flimsy?) or peg board (Too stiff?) for the upholsterer to recover.  OR is there a pattern or kit source out there somewhere?  johnson.m@monet.k12.ca.us

Hello All, try Hampton Coach, they sell all types of interior parts for old GMs,they have the best "cardboard" for your door panels.it is the proper thickness and holds up good, they are on the web but i cant think of their address.  thanks Harvey

The web site is http://www.hamptoncoach.com/ - I got the broadcloth, windlace and bedford cord for my 47 coupe from them, and had them re-work my assist pulls.  I got the wool carpet for the 47 from Hirsch http://www.hirschauto.com/ .  I had a local upholsterer do the work for me.
