Jeff,

Thanks, great post!  It sure shows that Cadillac "back in the day" understood who their buyer was, and what the car was and wasn't.  It was for the early middle-aged aspiring successful bourgeois buyer, period.  No pickup trucks, no sports cars, no pretense at being the teenager's dream (tho most of this club probably did) machine.  It was for the adult, white-collar market.  When did they lose their way?

As an aside, do you have any shots of engine compartments?  Or, does anyone know where they might be?  Sure would help in authenticity questions.

Cool site, be sure to check out the misc section.  I spent more time there than on the cars.

Check out the 76 Gm catalog.

Its nice to know that the 76 Eldorado was a "personal size car"
Apparently GM was anticipating that Americans were on their way to becoming obese?

A Deville is "regular size"
A Seville is "international size"

A Firebird and a Chevette are both "small size"
