Can anyone tell me if the 39 LaSalle grille was made of steel or pot metal. I'm hoping steel because it will be easier (and cheaper) to rechrome, but with my luck, the answer will probably be pot metal.

The '39 Caddies were also pot metal. Some years ago I was at a meet and parked next to a freshly restored 1939 Cadillac 60S. I was oogling his magnificent grill & he mentioned he had 8k in that alone. Pot metal restoration would be a skill worth learning!
