HEATER HOOKUP

On my 59 coupe there are two sliding handles on the heater display (on dash)  Where do these two cables terminate on. The heater box.  Couldn't find any information in the shop manual.

Jon,
Can't remember if your car is NON-AC, but assumed so - controls in dash - pic.
Here are some other pics.

The "WARMER" lever-slide is for adjusting the heater valve on the heater core. - pic.
Note the hex screw with screwdriver blade slot, and the knurled clamp it tightens around the cable from the lever-slide.

The "DEFROSTER" lever-slide is for positioning the door-shutter inside the plenum-heater box - see stud on whih looped end of cable attaches plus inside toothed spring washer - for the flow of hot air up through the defroster outlets in the dash next to the inside of the windshield, with the assistance of (in conjunction with) the vacuum actuator - pic.
