How to safely remove windshield trim on 1956 seville.

I would like to know the safest way to remove my windshield trim on my 1956 Seville as I need to replace the windshield. Any feedback would be appreciated,thank you.

Going to go out on a limb and assume 1955 may be similar.  Here are cuts from the 1955 shop manual courtesy of the Modified Cadillac Chapter website.
