Ok, nice. But, where does it go? Mine was long gone and I can't remember where it was on the 1970.

I'm not sure where it goes on my 70. The painter removed it when he was jamming the car. Maybe  Mr. Mirrione  can post a pic?? I have an all original 68 Eldo, but it doesn't have one. Maybe the owner of an original 68 DeVille will chime in.

I’ve seen it, and have mine, below the door striker on the drivers side. There is a ridge below the striker and then it’s flat. That’s where mine is.

I did this by looking at some low mileage originals that were for sale.

I assume you need a typewriter to type in the production date and serial number?  Who has a typewriter with a ribbon that hasn't dried out from non-use?
