My trunk pull down on my 74 deville is not working.. started the other day.. it releases most of the time ok..
the problem is when it needs to pull down is just runs and runs...i have to apply pressure for it to pull down.
Sounds like the little motor or gears are straining or damaged some how..
I took out the little motor part and notice a little damage to the small white threaded gear part on the end of it..but not alot
Anyone know whats going or or more importantly know anyone who rebuilts these...
Checked with cadillac tim he doesnt rebuild these..
Any help appreciated

Try good used from Cadillac King in CA or others.  Also, I would ask what other years are same, maybe 73-76?
