I despratly need help locating rear axle seals for a 73 commercial chassis. Tried the pro car guys with little results. GM part number is 1493724.
Tried Federal Mogal (national seal), Timken, Bower, Kanter, Rare Parts and USA Parts. Struck out all the way around.
Was told by several local parts houses that the rear axle brgs have been replaced by a new sealed style. So I got a pair from Car Quest. Wrong answer. It is a newer roller stlye, not the tapered style, but it MUST have a seal. The car Quest PN is RSN-1584-EV. These are EXPENSIVE! List price was $193.54 EACH!!!

PETER,  Try the McGUIRE Bearing Co. in Portland,OR the toll-free number is; 1-800-547-6045. be sure to have the measurements of your AXLE, ( OD ) and the ID of the AXLE HOUSING. Also any part numbers of the seal and bearing that you can supply.
