It goes inside the car to part of the climate control system.  It turns off or on the coolant flow depending on weather or not heat is needed inside the car.
73 Eldo convert w/FiTech EFI, over 30 years of ownership and counting
Somewhat recently deceased daily drivers, 80 Eldo Diesel & 90 CDV
And other assorted stuff I keep buying for some reason

Are you asking where the other end connects or how its supposed to be routed?

Yes that's rigth.
i found he good routage . In fact, a mouse had eaten the hose at the firewall. >:(
