I thougt it would be easy, but I have a big problem!
Has any one of you ever replaced the oil pressure thing / gauge at the back of the engine?
I have a big oil leak there and rely need to get it replaced but the space around it is so narrow that I can't get a tool on it.
It's a 472 on a Deville -72.

Soren,
There are specialty sockets designed for just this purpose, but lacking that, find a very deep socket that will fit tight enough to fit snugly around the oil sender and be very careful.  When you install the new sender, be extra careful not to break off the electrical connection tap at the top.  I replaced these for years without the "correct" socket, so you can too.

I thought a couple of mine leaked from there also.  Turned out to be from the back of the intake manifold.

It is very helpful to take the hood off first.

Dont know what a deville hood weighs but I know I dont want to take an eldo one off again.  It was a handful for 2 guys.

The hood stays i place  ;D
But it's hard to reach behind the engine, even if I'm 191 cm  ;D

At least with these engine bay's it is easier to rig up a scaffold and put a couple of planks over the engine from the front and lay on them.
