    I have seen many advertisements on businesses rebuilding shock absorbers for my 47, but I never found a rebuild kit advertised.  Would anyone know where I could purchase rebuild kits, or if this is a good idea for the home repairman?

Gary B. Take a look at your shocks, nothing to it,,right,, there is a reason why no kits are for
sale. Think about it, Is it worth $135.00 to have one of your shocks rebuilt? I would  have to say that it is not a task for a "home"  repairman. HTH Good Luck,JIM
