65 DVC Headlight problem.

I have a 66 DVC that I have just put the headlight buckets back in after paint.  The drivers side works fine.  However, I have an issue with the passanger side.  It seems that when I turn the lights on, the low beam comes on very dim.  What is also strange is that the high beam glows very very dim without being put on.  When I turn the high beams on, both lights get very dim.  Like I said, I have no issue with the driver's side.  The passanger side, is very dim.  I figured maybe some paint got on the headlight sockets so I cleaned them out very good.  I even replaced both headlights with brand new ones.  Still, this problem is occuring.  Any suggestions?  Thanks to all in advance for the help.

I will take it for granted that you have checked the connections at the headlight bulbs.  Check the ground wire over on the right side of the headlight circuit and check the  (I believe there is one) harness connections.  I was chasing a gremlin on my 66 and it tuned out to be a bad harness connection.  Also, since you have had someone working on the car, check that all the connections they might have taken apart are put back together correctly.

I would agree with Greg,  You have a ground problem.
Take a test light and probe all  wires at the back of the lights,  Compare good side to bad side.
The light should light when you touch the hot wire and not when you touch the ground.
If it lights on all, follow the ground wire to where it is connected to the sheet metal

Thanks all for the response.  Yes it was a grounding issue.  What happened was I changed my alternator from an external regulator to a one wire internal regulator.  What I did not know is that the ground for the original voltage regulator was also the ground for the passenger side headlight.  Once I grounded that wire, all was well.  Thanks again all for the input!
