Motor change from 1990 Brougham 5.0 to 5.7?

I have a 1990 Brougham with a 5.7, runs great but frame cracked, I bought a 1990 Brougham with a 5.0, has solid body and frame but burns oil, has anyone changed a 5.0 to a 5.7? How much work would be involved? I was told it can be done easily and can't be done easily. I know the transmission would also have to change with the motor, the radiators are different, I think the rear axles are geared different, batteries on different sides, I was told the wiring to the computer is different also.

Maybe I'm better off just keep adding oil and parting out the car when motor goes and sell the 5.7 motor.

The problem is the 5.0 is an Oldsmobile with a carb and the 5.7 is a Chev with EFI.   Just about everything is in a different place.  Fuel inlets are in a different place.  A/c compressor is in a different place.  Just about all sensors are in a different place.  Olds has a mechanical fuel pump.  The Chev has an electric in the tank.  The olds likely has a plain open tank, the chev has baffles for the efi.  Since you have both cars it could be done but you are going to have to change over everything that touches or connects to the engine.  That would be more work than I would want to go through.  Its all those little details that take time and get expensive.  The rears are likely different because the 2004r in the olds has different gear ratios than the 700r4 in the chev. I believe the 200 is longer than the 700.

Why not swap frames? Unless the car with the bad engine is that much nicer?
