Door handle rermoval on a 39 60S

Does anyone know to remove the exterior door handles from a 39 Cadillac 60S?  I don't see ant pins or screws-

  Open the door. From the end ,you should see a small round hole opposite the door handle. If you rotate the outside handle and watch the screw should come into view.You  may have to make a special screw driver to get thru the hole to it. Warren

When you loosen and remove the screw be careful that you don't drop it down inside the door.  It is a special tapered screw and they are hard to find.
