Has anyone out there swithes the front wheel bearings from the ball bearing to the more modern Timken bearing anf races. If so do you have any numbers of what to buy? Thanks.

Those bearings are available and work just fine. Why do you want to switch? I have two sitting on my desk as paper weights. Mine are New Departure.

Whenever I need to replace Bearings like you are doing, I simply take the parts to me local Bearing Supplier, and they measure the ID, OD , Width and find the correct Tapered Roller Bearing to suit.
