Can someone tell me what year did A/C become standard on Cadillac. Early seventies I'm guessing.

Thanks in advance.

I can definitely narrow it to after 1972 and before or during 1976.  I have a '72 owner's manual which shows a heater only control and I know AC was standard in 1976.  I recall hearing that you could get a Calais with no AC as late as the 1975 model year, but I'm not 100% sure.

I believe air conditioning became standard equipment as of January 1, 1974 production date, along with other items that were not previously standard, but which were ordered on the great majority of Cadillacs.  This would mean that an early 1974 could have been ordered without air conditioning.

The newest Cadillac I have personally seen without air conditioning was a 1972 model.
