Is this easily done...... or is it some sort of an art form?

Yes, I have done mine, and all it takes is a bit of thought, careful drilling out of the rivets, and replacing same afterwards, separating the parts, and not damaging the paper gaskets, and rectifying the problem with the non-operating.

I found that the careful trimming of the plastic that surrounds the wire coil that is usually out of shape from melting, that stops the "Plunger" from moving backwards and forwards as the current is flowing and stopping works, and also cleaning up the contacts from corrosion.

PS.   Mark the parts in their correct settings before actually separating them.

Yes, it can be done -- however, before you resort to tearing them apart and drilling out
the rivets there are a number of easy fixes you should try first.

I'm not going to repeat this all here -- this has been discussed in depth on the Forum before.
Just put "horns" into the search function and read up.

If you can't find it -- let me know.

That's good because the trumpet horn on my '70 stopped working.

The horns are not the same without it.
