I am trying to get the generator/regulator back on my 59 CDV, 390-4V with air. There are holes at the back of the radiator support but none that line up with the regulator. Where is it supposed to mount? I know it's in the general vicinity of the back of the rad support! Am I missing a bracket?

If someone could post a picture or cocktal napkin sketch that would be awesome - thanks!! Also what kind of screws/bolts? how many???

It's like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle blindfolded....

Thanks, Jim! Looks like I'm missing a bracket. I'll put a note in the parts wanted forum - unless anyone makes a reproduction?

The regulator is not on a bracket, but just bolds up to the back of the radiator support with 3 bolts.

Mauro,

You're right; I didn't notice the question was for a non-ac car.

Right. On A/C cars the generator cooling duct runs right where the regulator would mount on non-AC cars. So they made this bracket to put the regulator in a horizontal position. You can't see the bracket in the picture below but it shows how it's mounted.

Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to reproduce these, it's just folded and drilled metal. Hmmm... need an original first, though!
