1937 LaSalle coupe

Hello everyone. Just wondering if all '37 & '38 LaSalle conv. coupes had the rumble seat option. Seems to me that they (conv. coupes) would all have rumble seats. My reasoning would be that a conv. coupe would not be strong enough to support the regular coupe deck lid. Does anyone know? Thanks... John Lehman... CLC # 26365....

Hello John.

I think that its great that you have an interest in LaSalles. Consulting the magnificent book LaSalle Cadillac's Companion Car written by Ron Van Geldren and Matt Larson reveals:

1937 LaSalle 5067 855 units
1938 LaSalle 5067 1019 units (8 unexplained)

It appears that the 5067 models were made with rumble seats. There is the possibility that there could have been one without a rumble seat. This was the era of opulence. This text is an invaluable historical and authenticity resource. I would implore you to acquire it immediately. Matt Larson spent countless hours compiling data for us to learn. He is tireless and unselfish with assisting others on their restorations.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.
