Chicago -Rawhide was aquired by SKF and the cross referance numbers are the same, but the new seals are much thinner. Is it ok to use them and tap the seals flush???????? I'm talking about the rear axel, the differential and rear transmission seals.

Ken - You should  be OK with the new seals, but try to get the new seal in position so that it bears on a smooth area of the shaft.  This might mean tapping it in below flush or making a spacer to place behind it ti make sure it seals on a smooth area of the shaft.  Paul Ayres 35640
