AC-44 spark plug equivalent for 63 Eldorado?

Is there a CURRENT cross ref?  What are you guys using?  I found an old cross ref, but these numbers aren't current.

Rock Auto says Champion 14 or Autolite 85.  Any ideas?

I've been running AC R45S for a 4 years in my '66. I'm sure about the 45S, but not the "R". My AC distributor told me 44's are no longer available but 45's were the replacements.

A couple of years back, I did an extensive internet search, cross referenced different brands against each other from what was crossed to the AC-44. I finally decided from all the cross referencing, the Autolite 85 was the closest to the AC-44 heat range. I finally decided the platinum Autolite plug would be best for my 63 CDV.

Years ago, I converted to the pertronix flame thrower coil and ignition trigger to boost spark output. with that, I left the Autolite plugs gapped at the factory .042" to take advantage of the hotter spark. After adjusting the carburetor and timing, my car has never run this smooth and held tune for as many miles as it has since I put those platinum Autolite plugs in it.

I've run the AC-45 in this car in the past with the same pertronix ignition and the original point ignition. For my driving style, the 45's were too hot and I switched to the cooler AC-43, which worked well for my style of driving. I run a lot of highway at 60 + mph and very little city driving. When I was using the AC plugs, I gapped them at the recommended .035". My car ran OK with the AC plugs, but not as well as it has with the platinum Autolite plugs.

Don't be put off buy the "R" before a plugs number, it just means its a resistor type which helps avoid interference.
