Which are really good shocks to use for the 59 Cadillac?  Most interested in the best ride and handling......second interest is in authentic look.  Had bought a pair of KB shocks from OPGI but they dont fit........what advice can you offer me and from where can I get them?

I would be using Gabriel Gas Shocks.

Not sure of the part number, but I had them on my '60, and they were good.

You may be lucky and find them at your local parts house. Since the early models have fallen out of the catalog listings and todays counter people are often helpless without the computer . I would go to Gabriels web site http://gabriel.com/our-products/car-light-truck-van/pv-search/?yr=1959&make=Cadillac&model=Series+62&engine=1
and arm yourself with the item numbers listed here. I have been satisfied with the ride and have them on all my cads.

Excellent link.....and AUTOZONE carries them and I will have them before the weekend!!!!  Thanks guys.  Too bad that OPGI is making me pay for return shipping on the KYB front shocks they sold me that were the wrong part!!!!  I will get a full refund but I need to pay return shipping.......that's not right........

Thanks again for the advice with these Gabriel's......

I have found that OPGI is a great company and has made some great parts for these old girls but they aren't Cadillac people and don't always have the proper application for their parts.
