A fellow member in one of the local car clubs to which I belong has recently acquired a 1947 Cadillac series 62.  He is currently preparing the car for a safety inspection (mandated in the Province of Manitoba).  One issue he has is that there is a bit of a "wobble" in the pulley closest to the block.  He is not quite sure but suspects the pulley has somehow been damaged.  He has asked me if the engine has a harmonic balance wheel.  It seems to me I read somewhere that there is, but I am not sure. There is apparently some difference in the system at the head of the crankshaft (pulleys, etc.) between the 322  (as in my LaSalle) and the 346, but I cannot recall for sure what the difference is.  Any information and or advice will be appreciated.  Should replacement of one or both of the pulleys be necessary does anyone have them for sale?  In the meantime I will be encouraging him to join the CLC.

You have two pulleys bolted together along with the harmonic balanceer, if just one pulley is wobbly it could mean its coming adrift. he needs to remove it and inspect, if its tight then it may be distorted,  if all the pulleys are loose on the crank he should check the large bolt in the center for tightness.

Those pulleys are not castings, but formed from sheet metal pieces. If there is any sort of wobble, as you've described, the pulley can be easily unbolted from the harmonic balancer, and straightened by a good mechanic.
